ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY

If you or a family member needs assistance with Social Security Disability cases, we will be glad to consider your claim to see if we can help.

Our law office is a professional corporation specializing in handling accident, injury and disability cases.  We have several lawyers and a number of highly trained staff and legal assistants.

We find that our clients often ask us the following important questions:

What is Social Security Disability?
Social Security Disability is disability that is defined by the Social Security Administration as meeting a certain level of impairment and inability to obtain gainful employment.

How can I qualify for Social Security Disability?
If you have sufficient deposits of Social Security through past payroll and you can prove that you are disabled from any gainful employment for a year or more, then you would be entitled to Social Security Disability for at least the period of disability. When do I need an attorney to help me with my Social Security Disability case?
If you have been denied Social Security Disability, you should consult with an attorney to determine whether you could benefit from that attorney’s help at either the Reconsideration level or when your case goes before an Administrative Law Judge.  If your case has merit, you should certainly have the assistance of an attorney when requesting a hearing with an Administrative Law Judge.

How can I afford an attorney?
Pursuant to Social Security rules and regulations, an attorney is permitted to charge a percentage of the disability payments recovered, plus expenses when your case goes before an Administrative Law Judge.  There are other rules and regulations in regards to other levels of appeals or hearings.  If your case has merit, you should have an attorney and you should be able to afford one.

Why should I use Kerns, Kastenbaum & Reinhardt to handle my case?
The attorneys and staff of our firm regularly handle these cases and appear before the Social Security Administration.

We would be glad to speak with you about whether or not we can help you with your case. Please contact us if you think we might be able to be of service to you.

We will speak to you at no charge in the initial consultation and tell you whether or not your case is one that requires the assistance of an attorney and whether we can help.
